Annie Smotherman

Mrs. Annie Laura Underwood Smotherman, age 91, of Eagleville, TN, died Monday, October 12, 2020. Born in Rutherford Co., Mrs. Smotherman was a daughter of the late John Freeland Underwood and Ida Pearl Maupin Underwood. She was a retired sewing operator and was a member of the Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband. Tazie Lee Smotherman; 2 sons, Charles and James Albert Smotherman; a brother, B.A. Underewood; 3 grandchildrenn, Kenny Ray Smotherman, Gary Lee Smotherman and Frankie Lynn Smotherman.

Survived by a daughter, Martha Kay Plunkett of Murfreesboro, TN; 4 sons, Vernon Lee Smotherman of Smyrna, TN, John Irvin Smotherman of Murfreesboro, TN, Edwin Ray Smotherman of Eagleville, TN and Rickey Leland Smotherman of Murfreesboro, TN; 3 sisters, Mary Elizabeth Davenport of Chapel Hill, TN, Evelyn Ruth Plunkett and Frances Chaffin of Eagleville, TN; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 10am – 1pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow visitation on Thursday at 1pm, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rocky Glade Cemetery.
