Mr. Austin Eugene “Doc” Manire, age 95, of Unionville, TN, died on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born in Rutherford County and was a son of the late John Henry Manire and Willie Mai Wright Manire. Mr. Manire was a lifelong farmer and attended Kingdom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Doc was a veteran of the Unites States Army serving in World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the AMVETS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Gladys Cook Manire; children, Johny Claude and Jerry Manire; grandchild, Jimmy Pierce; sisters, Johnnie Mai Manire, and Sara Smith; brothers, Malcolm, Mark, Earl, William “Bill”, Jim, Herbert, and Harold Manire.
Mr. Manire is survived by his children, Wanda Manire Roberts of Somerset, KY, Pat Carney Bolin of Unionville, TN and Gary (Janice) Carney of Unionville, TN; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Guin and Bro. Scotty Sorrells officiating. Interment will follow in King Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County, TN.
