Avie Dyer

Mrs. Avie Mae Walls Dyer, age 95, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Mrs. Dyer was born in Chapel Hill and was a daughter of the late John William and Bessie Mae Griggs Walls. She was a life long homemaker and a member of Christian Chapel Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Mrs. Dyer was preceded in death by her husband, James Newton “Cracker” Dyer, who died in 1998; daughter, Martha Mae Peary; son, Phillip Eugene Dyer; and brothers, Finis Walls, Ernest Walls, Herbert Walls, Johnny Walls, and Will Walls.

Mrs. Dyer is survived by her children, James Avery Dyer, Chapel Hill, TN, Thelma Lorene (Lewis) Griggs, Chapel Hill, TN, William Carl (Debbie) Dyer, Lewisburg, TN, Michael Randolph (Carolyn) Dyer, Unionville, TN; 16 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
