Mrs. Bertha Sue Hicklen, age 79, of Smyrna, TN died Monday, July 14, 2014 in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born in Nashville, TN to the late John and Olala Lawson Matthews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Pope, and a nephew, Michael Pope. Mrs. Hicklen was a member of the Church of God in Smyrna, TN.
Mrs. Hicklen is survived by her brother-in-law, Herschel A. (Naomi) Pope of Smyrna, TN; nieces, Loretta (Jimmy) Harper of Eagleville, TN, Janice Campbell of Mt. Juliet, TN, Pat Lee of Christiana, TN; nephews, Wayne (Tammy) West of Smyrna, TN, Gary West of Shelbyville, TN, Terry (Martha) West of Unionville, TN; sister, Lorraine Estes; and friend, Joyce Duncan of Smyrna, TN.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00pm at Simpson Cemetery in Unionville, TN. Burial will follow. No visitation is scheduled.
