Bettie Regenia Gilliam

Mrs. Bettie Regenia Blalock Gilliam, age 90, of the Pottsville Community of Maury County, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020 in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

Mrs. Gilliam was born in Maury County and was a daughter of the late William Robert and Myrtle Childress Blalock. She was a member of Old Lasea Church of Christ, a homemaker and retired seamstress. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Blalock was also preceded in death by her husband, John David Gilliam, who died in 1991, and brothers, Travis Blalock and Wayne Blalock.

Mrs. Gilliam is survived by her sons, John David (Betty) Gilliam, Jr, Alabaster, AL, Bobby (Linda) Gilliam, Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Norma Brown and Barbara Ann Bradford, both of the Flat Creek Community; brothers, Billy (Carol) Blalock, Gallatin, TN, Danny Blalock, Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren, Angie (Vann) Daugherty, Emily (Jeff) Mimbs, Bengi (Kim) Gilliam, Carrie (Chris) Thrasher, Chad (Amanda) Gilliam; eleven great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mrs. Gilliam will be conducted Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Ring Cemetery in the Pottsville Community with Kenneth Bray officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Ring Cemetery. Everyone is asked to please wear a face mask to the graveside services. There will be no visitation prior to services.

Bengi Gilliam, Chad Gilliam, Chris Thrasher, Vann Daugherty, Jeff Mimbs, Billy Blalock and Danny Blalock will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews of Mrs. Gilliam, Elders and Deacons of Old Lasea Church of Christ, Elders and Deacons of New Lasea Church of Christ, Kenny Berlin, Terry Berlin, Thomas Blalock, Don and Nan Chunn, Bill and Kay Weldy, Lynn and Jerry Snead, Bobbie Ann Lovett, and Jimmy Gentry.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Ring Cemetery, 4381 Hardison Mill Road, Columbia, TN 38401.
