Brooke Payne

Mrs. Brooke Payne, age 38, of College Grove, TN, passed away peacefully September 7, 2021 at her residence. She was born on September 29, 1982 in Birmingham, AL to Ronald Mitchell and Debra Cardwell Schoen. In December of 2008, Brooke married her longtime friend and love, Bo McCoy Payne and in the following years they were blessed with their son, Glen McCoy “Mack” and daughter, Linen Rose.

After graduation of Springville High School in 2000, Brooke attended and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Healthcare Management. She made many lifelong friends as a proud sister of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. Brooke worked for Emageon in Birmingham, AL and after moving to Tennessee worked at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Ascension Health in Nashville, TN. She was an accomplished member of the IT department where she touched the lives of many patients whom she never met.

First and foremost, Brooke was a loving wife and mother. Her joy came from spending time with her family and friends. She loved her children dearly and considered them to be her greatest accomplishment.

Brooke was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving one another just as God also forgave you in Christ”

Mrs. Payne is preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Bernice Schoen, Fairest and Rose Caldwell, She is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Bo McCoy Payne of College Grove, TN; children, Mack  and Linen Payne of College Grove, TN; parents, Ron and Debbie Schoen of Springville, AL; sisters, Wendi (Adam) Bishoff of Trusville, AL, Robyn (Chris) Dodson of Springville, AL; father-in law, Jeff (Debbie) Payne; mother-in-law, Nancy (Keith) Heaton; sister-in-law, Honnie (Doug) Arnold; brothers-in-law, Cougar (Dina) Payne, Cody (Kaela) Payne, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Brooke’s life will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Riggs Church of Christ, 5905 Nashville Highway, Chapel Hill, TN 37034 with Russell Wyatt officiating.
