Bruce Jones, Jr.

Mr. Bruce Caywood Jones, Jr. age 82, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Sunday, May 6, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Jones was born in Alcorn County, Mississippi and was a son of the late Inous and Bruce Caywood Jones, Sr. He was a former Manager of the Bolivar Utility District in Bolivar, TN and retired as manager of the Hendersonville Utility District in Hendersonville, TN. Mr. Jones was a long time member of the Oak Grove Independent Methodist Church, later became a member and was ordained as a deacon at Dixie Hills Baptist Church in Bolivar, and most recently, was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Geneva Weaver, Imogene Woods; and brothers, R.G. Jones, L.B. Jones and J.A. Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clara Howell Jones, Chapel Hill, TN; daughters, Kathryn Ann (Bruce) Coleman, Portland, TN, Karen (Ray) Moore, Hendersonville, TN; Son, Bruce Kerry Jones, Washington D.C.; sisters, Annie Belle Norvell, Walnut, MS, Linda Sue Tilman, Somerville, TN; brother, L.K. Jones, Stow, Mass; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from the chapel of Shackelford Funeral Home with Rev. Terrell Gatewood officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
