Catherine Prouty

Mrs. Catherine Prouty, age 69, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, died Friday, March 9, 2018 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Mrs. Prouty was born in Bedford County, was a retired waitress, and was a member of Amazing Grace Community Church in Unionville, TN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Armetha Lynch Newsom, step-father, William Newsom; daughter, Teresa Ann Griggs; sons, Jerry Wayne Leverette and Clifford Charles Leverette; brothers, William Roy Newsom, Leslie Newsom and Doyle Newsom.

Mrs. Prouty is survived by her daughter, Wanda Leverette Overcast, Shelbyville, TN; sisters, Carolyn (Curtis) Sharp, Mary Leverette, Debbie Newsom, Patricia Newsom, all of Unionville, TN; brothers, Thomas Lynch, Shelbyville, TN, Johnny Lynch, Halls Mill Comm., Claude (Janet) Newsom, Shelbyville, TN, Randy Newsom, Unionville, TN, Timmy Newsom, Shelbyville, TN; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery near the Rover Community.

In Lieu of Flowers, family members have requested memorial donations be made to Lawrence Funeral Home for funeral expenses.
