Cathleen "Kate" Jacobs

Mrs. Cathleen “Kate” Jacobs, age 65, of Unionville, Tennessee, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  Mrs. Jacobs was born in Bay City, Michigan and was a daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Rosebush Burke and Joseph Edward Burke, Sr.  She was a master teacher at Tennessee Technology Center at Shelbyville in Shelbyville, Tennessee.  Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Columbia, Tennessee and served as adjutant for AM Vets Post 39 in Shelbyville.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Clarence “Jake” Jacobs, who died in 2012, a sister, Patricia Keith; two brothers, Joseph Burke, Jr. and John Charles Burke.

Mrs. Jacobs is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Partha Jacobs, Snellville, GA, Matthew and Haven Jacobs, Auburn, MI, Bethany and Ronald Vaughn, Murfreesboro, TN, Colleen Casamassima, Unionville, TN; brother, Michael Burke, Bay City, MI; five wonderful grandchildren, Gloria, Marena, Aliya and Aaron Jacobs, Dominic Casamassima.

Family members will receive friends on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2454 Nashville Hwy., Columbia, TN.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Charles Westra officiating.  Private burial services  will be held later at Zion Hill Church Cemetery.
