Charles "Charlie" Hagood

Mr. Charles “Charlie” E. Hagood, age 82, of Unionville, TN, died Friday, October 1, 2021 in Shelbyville, TN. Born in Giles County, TN, Charlie was a son of the late William Thomas and Prudy Etha Randolph Hagood. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hagood is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Martha Jo Hagood, who passed in 2011, and his sisters, Frances Canady and Martha Jane Thompson.

Charlie was a member of World Outreach Church and owned his own HVAC business. Mr. Hagood served his country in the United States Army and in his spare time, he enjoyed witnessing to others about the Lord, gardening, and most importantly, spending time and “cutting up” with his family.

Mr. Hagood is survived by his daughters, Rachel (Barton) Williams of Shelbyville, TN, and Elizabeth Williams of Smyrna, TN; son. Daniel (Nicole) Hagood of Christiana, TN; grandchildren, Bethany Hamlett, Jacob Williams, Garrison Hagood and Caleb Hagood; great-grandchild, Felix Charles Cruz; two nieces and two nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County with Brother Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow after the service.

Randy Davis, Kenny Parker, Billy Reed, Brian Williams, Brad Turk, and Barton Williams will serve as pallbearers. James Canady, Jacob Williams, and Johnny Hagood will serve as honorary pallbearers.
