Charlotte King Ralston

Charlotte King Ralston, age 97, died peacefully at her home in Eagleville, TN, April 22, 2024. 

She was born April 5,1927, in Rutherford County, TN, to the late Charles Bryan and Velma McElhaney King.

Charlotte enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress.  She loved quilting and made beautiful patchwork quilts.  Having a large garden, she spent her summers freezing, canning and sharing her bounty with friends and family.  She loved birds and was an avid purple martin landlord since 1987.  She was also a family historian.

Ms. Ralston retired in 1993 after 22 years of service as a rural mail carrier with the Eagleville and Spring Hill Post Offices.

Charlotte is survived by a son, Edwin (Rita) Ralston of Nashville, TN; a daughter, Susan Ralston Harper (Willard) Carrillo of Fort Morgan, CO; a brother, David (Mary Ann) King of Niota, TN; four grandchildren, Heather Ralston (Gene) Tucker, Jennifer Harper (Joe) Leachman, Rachel Ralston (Scott) Mancl, Josh (Stephanie) Harper; 10 great-grandchildren, Daniel Tucker, Jaiden Leachman, Jentry Leachman, Teagan Ralston, Harley Ralston, Crosby Mancl, Knox Mancl, Lincoln Mancl, Addison Harper, Colin Harper, and the father of her children, John Ralston of Eagleville, TN.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth (Elizabeth) Ralston, a grandson, John William Ralston, and brothers, Ed, Joseph, Richard, Bob, Charles, Paul, and Philip King.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Joe Leachman officiating.  Interment will follow in the King-Cook Cemetery in Bedford County, TN.
