Chuck Britt

Mr. Chuck Britt, age 82, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013 at his home in Chapel Hill.  Mr. Britt was born in Walnut Grove, Mississippi and was a son of the late Yarbrough and Cornelia Wallace Britt.  He retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Britt also retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation where he worked many years following his retirement from the Air Force.  He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Smyrna, TN.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Britt, and a niece, Allison Britt.

Mr. Britt is survived by his wife, Lillian Hawkins Britt, Chapel Hill, TN; children, Sheila Ghee (Eddie) Harber, Chapel Hill, TN, Sharon Ghee (Stevie) Holton, Chapel Hill, TN, David (Dottie) Ghee, Franklin, TN, Kristin (Ray) Ghee, Shelbyville, TN; brothers, Joe (Jackie) Britt, Grenada, MS, Danny (Claudine) Britt, Cleveland, TN, Ray (Martha Jane) Britt, Walnut Grove, MS; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, August 2, 2013 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. David Ghee and Rev. Marcus Kelley officiating.  Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.  The Adult Four Sunday School Class of Smyrna Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
