Mr. Clay Pettit, age 65, of Belfast, TN, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020 following an extended illness. Born in Clinton, Kentucky, Clay was the son of Thomas J. Pettit and Curtis Carolyn Dennis Pettit. Clay was retired from Labels Unlimited in Nashville, TN. He enjoyed building models and won many trophies for his talent. Clay was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and enjoyed NASCAR racing, football, and loved each of his friends dearly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Arthur and Mollie Rye Pettit, Bert and Valeria Dennis.
Clay is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Connie Hartley Pettit of Belfast, TN; two brothers, Paul Pettit of Clarksville, TN and Mark Pettit of Clarksville, TN; his cat, Stripey; and the extended and loving family that he married into.
Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, from 4 PM until 7 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 7 PM with Brother Mike Davenport officiating. Clay will be laid to rest on Kentucky soil with his parents.
Memorial donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission or Saint Jude’s Children Hospital.
