Mr. Donald G. Stanek, Sr., age 76, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Wednesday evening, December 4, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Stanek was born in Elgin, Illinois and was a son of the late George J. and Violet Hansen Stanek. He was a tool and die maker, having retired from Waconda Tool and Die of Algonquin, Illinois. He also was a former employee of Elgin Watch Company, Elgin, Illinois and Flexonic of Bartlett, Illinois. Mr. Stanek was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Moose Lodge in Woodstock, Illinois. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Pfarr.
Mr. Stanek is survived by his wife, Darlene Stanek, Chapel Hill, TN; children, Donald G. Stanek, Jr., Chapel Hill, TN, David Alan (Cristie J.) Stanek, Lake in the Hills, IL, Deborah (Peter) Odell, Chapel Hill, TN; brother, Thomas Stanek, Texas; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be recited on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Huntley, Illinois. Burial will follow in Algonquin Cemetery, Algonquin, Illinois. Family members will receive friends at the church on Monday one hour prior to the funeral mass.
