Donna King Bell

Donna King Bell, 81, a native of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Life Care Center of Sparta, TN.

She was born on February 5, 1939, in Chapel Hill, TN to the late James and Mariemma King. Donna was the sister of Linda King Jones of Waverly, TN. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Bob Bell. They have 2 children, Donna Bell Mead of Cookeville, TN and Barbara Bell Friddle of Greenville, SC. "Mama Bell (Donna)" is the grandmother of Heidi Mead Langford, George Allen Mead, Hillary Mead Jones, Courtney Danielle Friddle, Audrey Bell Friddle, and Bob William Friddle. She is the great grandmother of Annika Langford, Zane Langford, Arissa Jones, Ariah Jones, and soon to be born in August, "Baby Jones." Donna also had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Honorary pallbearers are George Olaf Mead, George Allen Mead, Bob William Friddle, Brian Friddle, Austin Allison, Keith Basey, Curtis Langford, Ben Jones, and Todd Jones.

Having worked as a medical technologist in many hospitals and laboratories, Donna ended her medical career at the Dept. of Health Education and Welfare in Washington, D.C. She was also a Forrest High School basketball player, holding a record in scoring, and a 1957 alumni.

Due to Covid-19 health crisis, a graveside funeral service to celebrate Donna's life will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN for family and friends. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery.
