Donnie Morris

Mr. Donnie Morris, age 80, of the Laws Hill Community of Marshall County, died Thursday, November 12, 2020.  Mr. Morris was born in Cowen, West Virginia and was a son of the late H. Jennings and Blyss Stalnaker Morris.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, D. Matthew Morris and grandson, Ryan Yancy.

Mr. Morris served his County in the United States Marines from 1958 until 1964.  Upon returning from the Marines, he moved to Ohio and retired 36 years later having worked with General Motors Corp. and later, Saturn Corp. of Spring Hill.  He was a member of the American Legion and was a life member of both the AmVets and the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Morris survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Ann Morris, Laws Hill Community; son, Daniel C. (Laura) Shreve, San Tan Valley, AZ; granddaughter, Desiree (Justin) Riley, San Tan Valley, AZ; grandsons, Evan (Rhonda) Morris, Ben Wheeler, TX, Jimmy (Randi) Yancy,  Honolulu, HI, Ricky Yancy, Denver, CO; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Anita Clutter, Slidell, LA; several nieces and nephews.

Family members will receive friends on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Morris will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home.
