Dorothy Terry Jay

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Terry Jay, age 92, of Inver Grove Heights, MN, died Thursday morning, June 15, 2023 at her residence.  She was born in Bedford County, TN and was a daughter of the late Owen Terry and Mattie Bell Wilson Terry.  Mrs. Dot was a member of the Church of Christ and worked in real estate for many years. She was a graduate of Forrest High School in Chapel Hill, TN and a member of the Forrest Alumni Association.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Jay, Jr. in 2003, her daughter, Dana Jay Walker, sisters, Mary Dalton, Charlene Ragsdale, and brothers, Jeff Terry, and Edward Terry.

Mrs. Dot absolutely loved her family and all the children.  She enjoyed traveling and visiting places, collecting antiques, and entertaining friends and family!

Mrs. Jay is survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca (Nick) Birk of Sunfish Lake, MN, Daniel (Tracy) Walker of Woodstock, IL, Peter (Kristy) Walker of Vista, CA, Maggie Walker of Rotterdam, Netherlands; 9 great grandchildren, Quinn, Delaney, Katy, Harriet, Scarlett, Cora, Sydney, Luka, and Max; special nieces, Carole Haynes and Sandra Sharp, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM on Friday, July 7, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Jamie Pratt officiating.  Interment will follow at Giles-Daniels Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
