Earnest Chaffin

Mr. Earnest Leo Chaffin, age 76, of Beechgrove, TN, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his residence. Born in Putnam Co., TN, Mr. Chaffin was a son of the late Thomas Chaffin, Sr. and Minnie Alice Hargis Chaffin. He was a carpenter and also a former employee of General Smelting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lillie Carver Chaffin who died on Feb. 20, 2020. Also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 6 brothers.

Survived by his 2 daughters, Alice Chaffin of Shelbyville, TN and Ruby Dyer of Murfreesboro, TN; a son, Earnest Doyle Chaffin of Beechgrove, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home from 11am to 2pm with the funeral service at 2pm. Burial will follow at Rocky Glade Cemetery in Rutherford Co.
