Ella Lane

Mrs. Ella Rowland Locke Lane, age 88, of the Rover community of Bedford Co., died Tues., June 23, 2015. A native of Bedford Co., Mrs. Lane was a daughter of the late Jim Bob Rowland and Maggie Davis Rowland. She was a school cafeteria worker for many years at Community School in Unionville and was a member of Rover Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Cooper Locke who died in 1996, sisters, Pearl Haynes, Beulah Windrow and Pauline Rowland; brothers, Herman , Stanley and John D. Rowland.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lane of the Rover community; 2 daughters, Rita (Jay) Locke Milam of the Rover community; Jean (Keith) Williams of the Rover community; 4 grandchildren, Cathy Purcell, Thomas Redden, Megan Williams and Courtney Williams; a great grandchild, Julia Purcell; step grandchildren, Marsha & Steve Beamon, Mark Milam, Michael & Anna David Milam,Matthew & Sandra Milam and Marty Milam; 8 step great grandchildren and 8 step great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sat., June 27, 2015 from 4pm – 8pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm, Sun., June 28, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lytle-Cooper Cemetery in the Rover community.
