Elmer Skinner

Retired Marine Elmer E. Skinner, age 92, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, formerly of College Grove, Tennessee, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his home near Chapel Hill. Mr. Skinner was born in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Nolen and Lottie Ellen Noe Skinner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Skinner, who died in February of 2020.

He proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corp. from which he retired after 23 years of service. Later, he retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Corrections, where he worked as a corrections officer.

Mr. Skinner is survived by his daughters, Vicki Smithson, Franklin, TN, Mary (Glenn) Crowell, Rock Island, TN, June Panos, Chapel Hill, TN; sister, Thelma Chandler, Nashville, TN; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
