Enoch Jarrell,Sr.

Mr. Enoch Ensley Jarrell, Sr. , age 85, of Bedford Co., died Sunday, December 22, 2019. Born in Bedford Co., Mr. Jarrell was a son of the late Walter Burns Jarrell and Roberta Kelley Jarrell as well as his 2nd mother, Virginia Owen Jarrell. He was a graduate of Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN and attended MTSU and the University of Tennessee. Mr. Jarrell was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Union Iron worker and worked out of Local 492 of Nashville, TN, working on many large projects in several states. He also raised Polled Hereford cattle and loved to talk in riddles and watch people decipher them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Gerald F. Jarrell and Kenneth W. Jarrell; 2 brothers, Bob (Rubye Jean) Jarrell and Julius Jarrell; 2 sisters, Mary Louise (Fred) Waldron and Nancy Hunter.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy S. Jarrell; 3 sons, Enoch E. Jarrell, Jr. and wife Christie of Smyrna, TN., James A. “Jimmy” Jarrell and wife Mary Frances of Bedford Co., Michael A. Jarrell of Bedford Co.; 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 12pm -2pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 2pm on Thursday. A private burial will follow at Jarrell Cemetery.
