Francis "Mac" Mcvay

Mr. Francis “Mac” McVay, age 78, of Lewisburg TN, died on Saturday morning, February 25, 2023, in Lewisburg, TN.   He was born in Peru, IN, and was a son of the late Ora Francis McVay and Helen Eileen Harts McVay.  Mac worked for the General Motors Corporation until his retirement in 2003, and was a member of the Spring Hill Auto Union #185312. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons,  Spring Hill Lodge #124, a member of the Scottish Rights, and an Al Menah Shriner.  Mr. McVay served our country in the United States Army, serving in the Special Forces.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Alton Lees, siblings, Allen Lees, Linda Caulkins, nephews, Deryck Lees, Marc Davison, Jimmy Dickensheet, niece, Mary Dossey, and the most special, his mother-in-law, Mildred Dickensheet.

Mr. Mcvay loved his dogs, his fur babies, and hunting and fishing.  He loved football and NASCAR racing, motorcycles, Sirius FM radio, and black and white movies.  Later in life, he enjoyed trips to the casinos with family and friends.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and being involved in their activities.

Mr. McVay is survived by his loving wife of 52 ½ years, Mrs. Marcia J. McVay of Lewisburg, TN; children, Sheila (Kevin) Miller of Lewisburg, TN, Cheryl (Tom) McVay of Ashland City, TN, Angela King of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Pierce of Peru, IN, Debra Lees of Idaho; brothers, Doine (Shirley) McVay of Sweetser, IN, Marty (Cynde) Lees of Peru, IN; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 1 PM until 3 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home at 3 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 with Masonic Rites.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital For Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL  33607.
