Gene Russell

Mr. Gene Russell, age 88, of Lewisburg, TN, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Marshall County, TN and a son of the late William James and Catherine Vaughn Russell.  Gene was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver from Mason Dixon Truck Line and later retired from Metro Nashville Codes Dept.  He served in the United States Army during World War II.  Gene was a member of the Fraternal Order of Odd Fellows.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Russell in 2000, and his grandson Jessie Russell in 2011.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Nell Russell of Lewisburg, TN; 2 sons, Gary Russell of Sarasota, FL and Rick Russell of Nolensville, TN; a stepson, Hal Dixon of Franklin, TN; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 18, 2014 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Worrell and Rev. Luke Bowling officiating.  Graveside services will be at 1 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
