Gene Smith
October 2, 1936 — February 16, 2016
Mr. Gene Smith, age 79, of Unionville, TN, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Mr. Smith was a native of Rutherford County, TN and a son of the late Willie Lowe and Ruth Loyd Smith. He was a truck driver and mechanic and a member of New Zion Church of Christ. In addition to his parents Gene was preceded in death by his daughter, Melody Dawn Smith, a sister, Marie Holder, and a brother, Edward Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 56 years, Laura Ruth Read Smith of Unionville, TN; his son, Kenneth Gene Smith of Unionville, TN; and daughter, June (Jeff) Elnicki of Tullahoma, TN and 6 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 3 PM at Simpson Cemetery with H. A. Beasley officiating. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community. There will be no public visitation.
