Geneva Ann “Nannie Ann” Thomas, 84, peacefully departed this world on Monday, October 28, 2024, at her home in Petersburg, Tennessee, surrounded by her beloved family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Geneva lived a life filled with love, laughter, and faith.
Geneva leaves behind her cherished children: Johnny (Brenda) Warren of Foley, AL; Keith (Donna) Warren of Chapel Hill, TN; Annette Tucker of Shelbyville, TN; Jackie (Eddie) Wells of Petersburg, TN; Wendy (Doug) Tucker of Petersburg, TN; Layne (Mandy) Leverette of Shelbyville, TN; and Stacey (Wayne) McKee of Lewisburg, TN. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply and who will carry her legacy forward.
She is also survived by her sisters, Parlee Williams, Clara Mai Cooper, Hellen Moulder, and Karen Purdom, as well as three brothers, James Avery Sons, Frankie Dwayne Sons, and Michael Ray Phelps. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Olie and Margie Sons, and her brother, Robert Gerald Sons.
Geneva was the heart and soul of her family, a true matriarch who nurtured and guided them with her wisdom and warmth. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including cooking, gardening, and filling her home with the fragrance of her flowers. Known for her sense of humor and playful spirit, Geneva was a prankster with an infectious laugh that brought light to those around her.
She retired from Eaton Corporation in Shelbyville, TN, after many years of dedicated service. Geneva's faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength, comfort, and peace. She was a faithful member of Christian Chapel in Unionville, TN, where she nurtured her relationship with God and found fellowship with her community.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Geneva's life at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4 PM until 8 PM. The Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Amanda Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
Geneva’s warmth, laughter, and love will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
