Geneva Hickson

Mrs. Geneva Simmons Hickson, age 90, died peacefully at her home in the Laws Hill Community of Marshall County on Saturday, May 30, 2015. Mrs. Hickson was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late William Buford and Sally Violet Slayton Simmons. She was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hickson, along with her late husband, was co-owner and operator of Hickson’s Grocery on the Fayetteville Hwy. in Lewisburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Clifford Hickson, who died in 1994; a grandson, Jonathan Royce King; a sister, Almeda Simmons Crowell and a brother, William Buford Simmons, Jr.

Mrs. Hickson is survived by three daughters, Emily Joy Hickson King, Fayetteville, TN, Anita Royce Hickson Joyce, Laws Hill Comm., Phyllis Jeanne Hickson Tipton, Lewisburg, TN; six grandchildren, Candice Jeannette King Meeks, Fayetteville, TN, Nathan King, Fayetteville, TN, Daniel King, U.S.N.C. California, Casey Joyce, Eagleville, TN, David Lynn Haston, San Antonio, TX, Ryan Lane Tipton, U.S.M.C. Okinawa, Japan; eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery, Lewisburg, Tennessee.
