George Phillips, Jr.

Mr. Luther George Phillips, Jr., age 81, of Lewisburg, TN died Thursday, October 27, 2016. Born in Shelbyville,TN, Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Luther George Phillips, Sr and Irene Willis Phillips. He served for a period of time in the Tennessee National Guard and retired from Duck River Electric Membership Corporation after 43+ years of service. At the time of his retirement from DREMC he was the Lewisburg District Manager. Mr. Phillips was a member of the American Hereford Association and was a member of the Lewisburg Lions Club and formerly served as a director of the Farm Bureau Board and the Lewisburg Planning Commission.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Jean Mooneyham Phillips of Lewisburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Carey Uselton of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 grandchildren, Drake and Hunter Uselton.
Family and friends will gather at Lone Oak Cemetery at 2PM, Sunday, October 30, 2016 for a graveside service. No visitation is scheduled prior to the graveside service.
