Gerald Byrd

Mr. Gerald Byrd, age 75, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Saturday, August 3, 2024 at his home in Chapel Hill. Gerald was born in Archer City, Texas and was a son of the late Burt Byrd and Juanita Phillips Byrd. He was of the Baptist faith. Gerald was retired after working for the Franklin Housing Authority and later in sales for Spring Hill Hardware and Chapel Hill Hardware Stores. 

Mr. Gerald truly enjoyed working and helping others. His work ethic was unsurpassed and he lived a life of service to others. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them!

Mr. Byrd is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mrs. Barbara Hargrove Byrd of Chapel Hill, TN; children; Mitchell Byrd of Antioch, TN, Chris Byrd of Chapel Hill, TN, Eric Byrd of Lebanon, TN, Terry Byrd of Spring Hill, TN, Carl Conner of Chapel Hill, TN, Calvin Conner of Christiana, TN, Sherry Currie of Pensacola, FL, Leona Aguilar of Bon Aqua, TN, DJ Johnson of Kingston Springs, TN; 25 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; siblings, Ronnie Byrd, John Byrd, Viola Wheeler, Carolyn Strickland, Eddie Conwell, Audrey Southard, and Mary Moore, all of Texas.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Jamie Pratt officiating. Interment will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.

Tristan Byrd, Chris Currie, Tim Currie, Kristopher Byrd, Angel Reyes, and Jeraldo Aguilar will serve as pallbearers.
