Glenn Whaley

Mr. Glenn Whaley, age 71, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Friday morning, July 25, 2014 at his home in Lewisburg. Mr. Whaley was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Milton Clyde and Elizabeth Jones Whaley. He was a member of Farmington United Methodist Church. Mr. Whaley retired in 2011 after 45 years as owner and operator of Glenn Whaley Body Shop in Lewisburg. After retirement he continued farming and enjoying his passion for antique cars.

Mr. Whaley is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley Ann Whaley, Lewisburg, TN; two daughters, Carolyn Ann (Joe) Hudson, and Mary (Bill) Mathis, both of Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Macie Russell, Jenny Jett, Kathy Davis, Ceretha Pardee and Audrie Adams, all of Lewisburg, TN, Nancy Darnell, Eagleville, TN; brothers, Milton Whaley, Jesse Whaley, Travis Whaley, all of the Farmington Comm., Calvin Whaley, Wheel Comm., Rufus Whaley, Laws Hill Comm.; grandchildren, Jordan Hudson, Jacob Hudson, Sarah Burgess, Savannah Burgess, Shaun Burgess, Abigail Mathis; step-grandchildren, Ashley Burgess, Alicia Coy, Bill Mathis, Jr., Austin Mathis; great grandchildren, Julianna Burgess, Holder Hudson; several nieces and nephews.

Family members will receive friends on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Don McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Whaley Cemetery in the Farmington Community.

Henry George, Steve McPherson, Jordan Hudson, Jacob Hudson, Shawn Burgess, Horace Yell, Kenneth Burgess, Austin Mathis, Bill Mathis, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
