Gus Harwell
June 9, 1943 — January 21, 2015
Mr. Gus Harwell, age 71, of Lewisburg, TN, died Wed., Jan. 21, 2015 following an extended illness. A native of Marshall Co., Mr. Harwell was the son of the late Gus Fluneoy Harwell, Sr. and Annie Lee Laster Harwell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War and was formerly a Quality Control Inspector for I.C.P. in Lewisburg. Mr. Harwell was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Sue Harwell of Lewisburg; a son, Tim (Kathy) Harwell of Shelbyville; a sister, Elise Murphy of Lewisburg; 3 brothers, William Cawthon, Sandlin Cawthon and Clayton Cawthon all of Phoenix, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Alix Harwell Thompson, Arin Harwell and Andi Harwell.
Visitation will be from 4pm – 8pm, Fri., Jan. 23, 2015 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm, Sat., Jan. 24, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Hopper Cemetery in Marshall Co.
