Holts Corner Community

Mr. Hal Manier, age 75, of the Holts Corner Community of Marshall Co., died Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Born in Marshall Co., Mr. Manier was the son of the late Don Miller Manier and Mary Josephine Fuller Manier. Hal received a Bachelors Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Masters Degree from Louisiana State University. He was a Chemist having retired from Vanderbilt Research. Hal was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church having served on the Administrative Board and as a Liturgist. He was a long time member of the Chapel Hill Masonic Lodge #160 where he served as the Secretary for 43 years. Hal was also a local historian.  In addition to his profession, he spent his life dedicated to and caring for his family. He loved the family farm and enjoyed tending to the flowers and working in his garden. To all who had the privilege to know him, he was a wonderful example of a man of unblemished character who showed this through his kindness, humbleness, honesty and consideration of others. He will be sorely missed.

Survived by his sister, Judy Manier of the Holts Corner Community; Also survived by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of friends.

A Graveside service will be conducted at 1PM, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill with Rev. David Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service in accordance with Hal’s wishes.
