Herschel A. Pope

Mr. Herschel A. Pope, age 84, of Smyrna, TN, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in Eagleville, TN.  He was a native of Smyrna, TN and a son of the late Walter Herchell Pope and Lillian Birdett Eades Pope.  Mr. Herschel served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the Church of God and the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry.  He was a spray painter for AVCO and Wrights Industries.  He loved to talk about the Lord to anyone who would listen and he enjoyed lawn maintenance.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Marie Pope, sons, Gary Lee West and Michael Alvin Pope, sisters, Marie Richey and Linda Heery.

Mr. Pope is survived by his daughters, Loretta (Jimmy) Harper of Eagleville, TN, Janice Campbell of Mt. Juliet, TN, Pat Lee of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Wayne (Tammy) West of Smyrna, TN, Terry (Martha) West of Unionville, TN; brothers, John (Diane) Pope of Smyrna, TN, Jimmy (Elaine) Pope of Smyrna, TN, Billy (Teresa) Pope of Smyrna, TN; sister, Judy (Doc) Seese of Pennsylvania; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN from 11 AM to 1 pm on Monday, March 1, 2021. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday, March 1, 2021 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Milton Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, TN.
