Homer Dwayne Smotherman

Homer Dwayne Smotherman, 59, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. Dwayne was born in Bedford County, Tn on August 22, 1965. Dwayne was son of the late Homer Franklin Smotherman and Mary Ruby James Smotherman who survives. 

Dwayne enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He found enjoyment hunting and spending time around farm animals. He was a farmer and always was willing to help anyone who needed anything. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his family. Dwayne was always looking for ways to make people laugh and be a prankster.

 In addition to his mother, Dwayne is survived by his sons, Thomas Dewayne Blackwell and Joshua Lee Smotherman, both of Chapel Hill, TN; two daughters, Stephanie Dawn and Ashley Lynn Smotherman, both of Chapel Hill, TN; life partner Dana Blackwell of Chapel Hill, TN; siblings, Wanda Ensey and Angela Smotherman, both of Chapel Hill, TN, Patricia Thompson of Shelbyville, TN, Donna Haynes of Petersburg, TN, and Donnie Smotherman of Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren Braden Smotherman and Ethan Sopher as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation with the Smotherman family will be Monday, October 28, 2024 from 4PM until 8PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 3PM from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery on Old Pencil Mill Rd in Chapel Hill, TN.
