Irine Holt Oechsel

Mrs. Irine Holt Oechsel, age 72, of Shelbyville, TN, formerly of College Grove, TN, died on Friday evening, February 3, 2023 at her residence.   She was born in Franklin, TN and was a daughter of the late Thomas Benton Holt and Clara Emily Beard Holt.  Mrs. Oechsel was retired from Durango Boot Company where she worked for many years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Oechsel in 2019, a sister, Jane Holt, and a brother, Charles Holt.

Mrs. Irine’s hobbies were gardening and tending to flowers.  She enjoyed watching the birds but most of all, she loved her family and being with them.

Mrs. Oechsel is survived by her children, Sherry Mealer of Shelbyville, TN, Dale (Tracie) Oechsel of College Grove, TN; 2 grandchildren, Daniel Mealer of Murfreesboro, TN, Kasie Mealer of Summertown, TN; 2 great grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua Rogers; sisters, Virginia Matlock of Chapel Hill, TN, Etter Fox of the Leiper’s Fork Community, Evelyn Barber of Spring Hill, TN; brother, Henry Holt of Bon Aqua, TN;and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 1 PM until 1:30 PM at the Beard Cemetery.  The Graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 1:30 PM at the Beard Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.  Interment will follow the service.
