Mr. Jack P. Williams, Sr., age 93, of Eagleville, TN, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at his home. Mr. Williams was born in Davidson County, TN, and was a son of the late Zoe Anne McMurtry McKinney. He was a member of Eagleville Baptist Church and a member of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Williams was an auto mechanic most of his life. He later worked for Roadway Express and retired in 1989. He was a decorated Veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II and fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Williams was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and was a Shriner. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Williams, and a brother, James McMurtry.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Russell Williams of Eagleville, TN; children, Jackie Lohr of Lebanon, TN, Ronnie (Wendy Fay) Williams of Mt. Juliet, TN, Donnie (Frankie) Williams of Nashville, TN, Roxi Ghee of Belfast, TN, and Jack (Melonie) Williams, Jr. of Somerset, KY; 13 grandchildren, Tanya, Gina, Cindy (Greg), Ronnie, Jr., Chris, Julie, David Jack, Jesse (Katie), Chance, Dalton, Jacob, Nicholas, and Kaitlyn; 18 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, October 11, 2019, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 1 PM with Rev. Ronnie Grooms officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, TN.
