Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Reid Hawkins Ogilvie, age 87, of the Allisona Community of Williamson County, died Friday, February 15, 2019 in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Mrs. Ogilvie was born in Nashville, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Samuel Doyle and Helen McMurry Hawkins. She was a graduate of Vanderbilt School of Nursing, a career she followed as a registered nurse until her retirement in 1962 from Vanderbilt Hospital. In addition to her nursing career, Mrs. Ogilvie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and was involved in many activities in the College Grove area and Middle Tennessee. She served as a leader for both 4-H Clubs and Girls Scouts. She was a very active member and Sunday School Teacher at the College Grove United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ogilvie suffered from Trigeminal Neuralgia, a very painful nerve disorder of the face, and became the advocate for the Middle Tennessee Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group as well as a Tennessee representative to the National Trigeminal Neuralgia Conference for many years.
In addition to all her other activities and interest, she and her late husband, William Harris “Bill” Ogilvie farmed the family farm in the Allisona Community.
Mrs. Ogilvie is survived by her daughters, Mary Helen (Terry) Rudd, Jackson, TN, Annie Lou Ogilvie, College Grove, TN, Martha Lynn (Mike) Woodside, Brentwood, TN; sister, Harriet (Derrall) Kinard, Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Jacqueline Shannon Rudd (Clay) Carroll, Robert Matthew (Amanda) Rudd, Amy Ruth Rudd (Andrew) Mangrum, William Chase Rudd, Courtney Elise Woodside, Austin Grant Woodside; great grandchildren, Melissa Reid Carroll, Walker Rudd Carroll, Graham Baker Carroll and Peyton William Rudd; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with Family will be on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Family members will also receive friends on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the College Grove United Methodist Church in College Grove, TN. A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Ogilvie will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Pam Wells officiating.
