Mr. James Ingram, age 85, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. Ingram was born in Williamson County and was a son of the late Edward and Carrie Mae Crafton Ingram. James was an employee of the Town of Chapel Hill, a position he accepted after retiring from farming in the Chapel Hill area for most of his life. Mr. Ingram was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by sons, Eddy Ingram and James David Ingram and a brother, Thurman Ingram.
Mr. Ingram is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sadie Mae Ford Ingram, Chapel Hill, TN; children, Glenn Alvin (Eva) Ingram, Chapel Hill, TN, Janie Ruth (Joseph) Smith, Chapel Hill, TN, Gwen (Phil) Kincaid, Holts Corner Comm.; daughter-in-law, Kathy Ingram, Chapel Hill, TN; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren. Family members will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Elmer McCoy, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in College Grove Cemetery.
Andrew Kon, John Oalmann, Jacob Ingram, Joseph Ingram, R.J. Schillig, Jayce Schillig, David Ingram, Michael Ramirez will serve as active pallbearers. Council members and Employees of the Town of Chapel Hill will serve as honorary pallbearers.
