James Ragsdale

Mr. James F. Ragsdale, age 79, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Ragsdale was born in Marshall County, was a son of the late John Porter and Lela Mai Newcomb Ragsdale and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Smotherman and by brothers, Clyde Ragsdale, Bill Ragsdale, J.L. Ragsdale and Tom “Leon” Ragsdale.

Mr. Ragsdale is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cook Ragsdale, Shelbyville, TN; sons, Kenneth Ragsdale, Chapel Hill, TN, Phillip (Becky) Ragsdale, Chapel Hill, TN, Jeff (Teresa) Ragsdale, Chapel Hill, TN, Shane Cook, Shelbyville, TN, Jamie (Shannon) Ragsdale, Shelbyville, TN, Jonathan (Erica) Ragsdale, Shelbyville, TN; sisters, Emma Lavern Ragsdale, Lewisburg, TN, Louise Hargrove, Chapel Hill, TN; brothers, Herman Ragsdale, Laws Hill Comm., Bobby Ragsdale, Lewisburg, TN; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Friday, June 27, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
