James Tapley

Mr. James Richard Tapley, age 80, of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his home. He was born in Vivian, Louisiana, to his parents Edwin Tapley and Annabelle Miller Tapley. Mr. Tapley worked as a mechanical engineer all of his life. He loved his family dearly.

Mr. Tapley is survived by his wife of 34 years, Phyllis Ann Tapley, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter, Susan (Robert) Byrd, Franklin, TN; sons, Scott Matthew (Tonja) Higgins, Olathe, KS, Sean Michael (Ronda) Higgins, stationed in Newport, RI (Air Force); grandchildren, Sheldon (Elise) Higgins, Katherine Higgins, Jackson Byrd, Caroline Byrd; great grandchildren, Samantha Higgins and Sierra Higgins; half-sisters, Kay Curtis and Gay Sample, Benton, AR; and niece Vickie Downing, Temecula, CA.

The family will be having an Irish wake at their home at a later date.
