James "Jim" Lovins

Mr. James “Jim” Lovins, age 86, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Thursday, April 11, 2019 in Lewisburg, Tennessee.  Mr. Lovins was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Alfred and Jessie Anderson Lovins.  He retired in 1994 after 41 years of service with Sanford Corporation of Lewisburg, Tennessee.  For many years, Mr. Lovins served as an auxiliary policeman for Lewisburg and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.  He loved ham radios and was a member of the Marshall County Ham Radio Club.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Nina Lovins and Lillian Brown, and brothers, Joe Lovins, Lonnie Lovins and Tommy Lovins.

Mr. Lovins is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dot Paul Lovins, Lewisburg, TN; son, Tim (Lori) Lovins, Lewisburg, TN; grandchildren, Lauren Lovins Conley, Christiana, TN and Gunner Lovins, Fayetteville, TN; sisters, Louise Phillips, Lewisburg, TN, Jessie Demoss, Lewisburg, TN, Janie Anderson, College Grove, TN; brother, John Lovins, Lewisburg, TN.

Family members will receive friends on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Wilson and Rev. Ridley Barron officiating.  Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Gunner Lovins, Dakota Lee, Dale Lovins, Chuck Coble, Steve Landrum and Brian Hastings will serve as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Cates, Heather Clark, Veronica Foor, Angela Umbles, Brittany Umbles, Christy Jacobs, Taylor Jones, Angie Dalton, Kayona Derrick, Tammy Adams, Wynelle Simeck, Donna Mayes and Windy Cole.
