Jane Pruitt

Mrs. Jane Pruitt, age 87, of Bartlett, TN, formerly of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022 at her residence.  She was a native of Marshall County, TN and was a daughter of the late Clarence Earl Matney and Martha Ann Ball Matney.  Mrs. Jane was a member of Holt’s Corner Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Pruitt, a great granddaughter, Caitlin Carroll, and a sister, Aline Brown.

Mrs. Jane loved cooking and cleaning.  She dearly loved to sing and enjoyed gospel music.  Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them.

Mrs. Pruitt is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Jesse Pruitt of Bartlett, TN; children, Susan (Jimmy) Clark of Shelbyville, TN, Carol Ann (Houston) Thomas of Bartlett, TN; sister, Frances Lamb of Columbia, TN; 5 grandchildren, Stephen (CC) Clark, Betsy (Brandon) Walker, LeAnne (Lindsey) Cook, Cody (Randi) Richardson, Pruitt Richardson; 11 great grandchildren, Lauryn Clark, Taylor Carroll, Josh Carroll, Bella Clark, Landon Walker, Henson, Colton, Brayson, and Lawson Cook, Ellie and Carter Richardson; daughter, Kathy (Larry) Redmond of Henderson, TN, and family.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 3 PM until 4:30 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  The graveside service will be conducted on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 5 PM at Swanson Cemetery with Paten Pruitt officiating.  Interment will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Clark, Houston Thomas, and Robin Richardson.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Jonathan English and Nurse Kalura Morris of Crossroads Hospice.  They also have special appreciation for Angie Harris, Connie Gibson, and Pat Holmes, the sitters, for their love and assistance.
