Jim Walls

November 17, 1948 — September 19, 2015

Mr. Jim Walls, age 66, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home in Chapel Hill. Mr. Walls was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Jolly, Sr. and Bessie Mae Fagan Walls. He was a graduate of Forrest High School, Class of 1967 and a member of the Chapel Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Walls was employed for 38 years with ICP of Lewisburg. Following the closing of ICP, he began work with the Marshall County Board of Education working in the maintenance department at Oak Grove Elementary School. He loved sports and was a coach for Marshall County Youth Football League, Marshall County Minor League and Little League Baseball and Marshall County Girls Softball League. Mr. Walls was also a TSSAA basketball official for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sue Bell; brothers, Pat, Nolan and Vernon “Son” Walls and infant twin brother and sister, Freddie and Freda Walls.

Mr. Walls is survived by his wife, Brenda Walls, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter, Lessie (Kenneth) Uselton, Antioch, TN; sons, Jimmy Wayne Walls, Jr., Lewisburg, TN, Spence (Rhonda) Walls, Chapel Hill, TN; sisters, Virginia Moore, Jackson, TN, Sarah Morgan, Peoria, IL, Betty Collins, Lewisburg, TN, Lollie Petty, Chapel Hill, TN, Wanda Clark, Chapel Hill, TN, Gayle Braden, Pulaski, TN, Kay (Jackie) King, Chapel Hill, TN; brothers, Bill ( Jean) Walls, Rover Comm., Gene (Sarah) Walls, Tallahassee, FL, Jolly (Nancy) Walls, Jr., Chapel Hill, TN; grandchildren, Spencer Walls, Kennedy Uselton, Mason Walls, Mallorie Uselton, MacKenzie Walls, Drew Uselton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family members will receive friends on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Will Haislip and Nephews of Mr. Walls will serve as active pallbearers. Members of the Forrest High School Class of 1967, employees of H & S Pharmacy of Chapel Hill and the staff of Oak Grove Elementary School will serve as honorary pallbearers.
