Jimmie Drue Terrell, Sr., passed away September 3, 2020, at the age of 79, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born the eldest of 6 children to Sylvester Terrell and Stella Terrell in Enigma, Georgia, on August 29, 1941.
Jimmie met his wife of 36 years, Shirley, when he was sixteen and she was thirteen. When Shirley turned sixteen, they dated briefly before their lives took separate paths. After years apart, they found each other again and were together for 43 years, and married on April 5, 1984.
Jimmie worked with dedication in his business, Triple T. Coach, building tour busses for thirty years, and then continued to give his expertise to various bus companies.
Jimmie leaves his wife, Shirley, and their children: Jessica, Julie James, Tammy, Billy, Bobby, and Barry. Predeceased by Drue. He leaves 10 grandchildren and in addition, 11 great grandchildren.
Family members will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
