Jimmy Lawrence Lambert

Mr. Jimmy Lawrence Lambert, age 81, of the Rockvale Community of Rutherford County, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home. Mr. Lambert was born in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Milton Evander and Mattie Bea Brannon Lambert. He was formerly employed with Vanderbilt University in Nashville in the maintenance department and was also a retired lifelong dairy farmer. Mr. Lambert was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Rutherford County where he served as a deacon for many years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Bowlby.

Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Alene Carlton Lambert, Rockvale, Comm.; daughters, Martha June Lambert (Howard) Knight, South Padre Island, TX, Shirley Diane Lambert (Gary) Watson, Rockvale Comm.; sons, James Milton (Kelli) Lambert, Rockvale Comm., Barry Neal (Sharon) Lambert, Springfield, MA; sister, Ann (William) Cooper, Unionville, TN; brothers, Kelly (Janice) Lambert, Unionville, TN, Ronnie (Peggy) Lambert Unionville, TN, Donnie (Brenda) Lambert, Shelbyville, TN; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Bobby Maxwell, Rev. Darrel Whaley and Rev. John Amspaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery near the Rover Comm.
