Joe Scales

Mr. Joe Kelley Scales, age 55, of College Grove, Tennessee, died Saturday, November 19, 2016. Mr. Scales was born in Rutherford County and was a graduate of Page High School, Class of 1981. He was the former owner and operator of Joe Kelly’s Market in Kirkland, Tennessee. Mr. Scales was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Taliaferro Scales; grandparents, Charlie Lavender “Dooch” Scales, Mary Agnes Scales, Kelly Taliaferro and Mary Elizabeth Taliaferro.

Mr. Scales is survived by his father and step-mother, Urban Samuel and Vivian Frost Scales, College Grove, TN; sisters, Donna Scales, Eagleville, TN, Michelle Walls Locke (Marc), College Grove, TN, Lori Scales Fulghum (Jason), Eagleville, TN, Stacey Scales Robinson (Stanley), Eagleville, TN; nieces and nephews, Jacob Edmonson, Jessica Edmonson, Meredith Locke Daniel, Molly Locke, Briley Fulghum, Devon Fulghum, Ginger Fulghum, Ryker Fulghum.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Pete Rucker and Pastor Mary Kate Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Triune Cemetery, Triune, TN.

Jimmy Barnes, Timmy Wilson, Lee Floyd, Willie Roberts, Butch Roberson and Jacob Edmonson will serve as pallbearers.  Nieces and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
