John Wright

Mr. John Thomas “Tom” Wright, age 85, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Monday, December 28, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Wright was born in Chapel Hill, Tennessee to the late John Henry and Mattie Adelaide Chrisman Wright. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sara Ruth ”Shorty” Holder Wright, and by two brothers, Leroy Wright and Orville “Cobb” Wright.

Mr. Wright is survived by daughter, Debbie (Jimmy) Bradford, Lewisburg, TN; son, Ronnie (Lisa) Wright, Lewisburg, TN; grandson, William Wright,Lewisburg, TN; great grandchild, Haleigh Wright; sister, Jean Boyce, Unionville, TN; brothers, Homer Wright, Shelbyville, TN, Earl (Wilma) Wright, Lewisburg, TN.

He was a member and trustee at Lewisburg Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Wright served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was retired from American Bread Company/Sunbeam Bakery after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked part time with his friends at Russell Vending and Catering. He enjoyed working on and trading old cars, lawn mowers, anything mechanical and trading on all types of items, but mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Family members will receive friends on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Judy Stevenson officiating. Burialwill follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
