John L. Davis

Mr. John L. Davis, age 66, of Deep Run, North Carolina, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

Mr. Davis was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Jimmie Frank and Fannie Morenie Haynes Davis. He served his Country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, and following his time in the Marines, Mr. Davis was a mobile home supply salesman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Davis and Adelaide Davis Haskins and brothers, James Davis, Jim Davis and Raymond Davis.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sarah Davis, Deep Run, NC; children, Tracy Byrd, McLeansville, NC, John L. Davis, Jr., Deep Run, NC, Kelly Whaley, Kinston, NC; sisters, Ruby Jett, Shelbyville, TN, Bell Trivitt, Shelbyville, TN; brothers, Leon Davis, Shelbyville, TN, Albert Davis, Shelbyville, TN, Lee Roy Davis, Unionville, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Annabella Davis.

Family members will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Graveside services, with military honors, will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County with Rev. Ronnie Grooms officiating. Burial will follow in Elmore Cemetery.
