Joseph Darrell Luquer, Jr.

Joseph Darrell Luquer, Jr., passed away March 12, 2025. He was born in Davidson County, TN, graduated from Isaac Litten, class of 1963. After high school, Joe and his best friend Drew went to Memphis for a Data programing class. He returned to Nashville, for several years before moving to Florida where he worked as a Repairman. He then moved back to the Nashville area and began working at Square D, in 2002, as an electrical engineer, retiring in 2009. He then met the love of his life Mary Ann, and married in 2008 and had a wonderful marriage. They loved dancing and traveling. Joe had his father’s knack for music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He also shared in his love of woodworking. He made many different items and gifted his friends and family with cutting boards.

Predeceased by his wife; Mary Ann Bates Garner, mother, Otis Mildred Jackson Luquer, father Joseph Darrell Luquer, Sr., grandparents Herbert Luquer Sr & Annie Jane Garrett Luquer, Edwin Cleo Jackson & Ida Alice Henley Smith, grandson Joshua Michel Edwards. Survived by; son, Joseph Michael (Joanne) Luquer; stepson, Willliam Michael Jenkins, stepdaughter, Melanie (Michael) Edwards; five grandchildren, Trent Joseph “TJ” (Natalie) Luquer, William Justin (Nichole) Jenkins, James Malcolm Edward, Amber Jane Nichole (Fiancé Robert) Ayres, Sarah Nicole Jenkins; four great grandchildren, Joseph Daniel Ayres, Brystol Maeve Jenkins, Ensley Belle Jenkins, Jackson Robert Foreman.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:30pm. Summertown Baptist Church, 90 State Hwy 20, Summertown, TN 38483. Visitation starting at 2:00pm.
