Joyce C. Ellis

Mrs. Joyce Callis Ellis, age 89, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. Mrs. Ellis was born October 28, 1935, in Robertson County, Tennessee, to John Lanier and Bessie Dickens Callis. She was a member of Grove Hill Church in Chapel Hill, TN.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carlton E. Ellis, siblings, Nolan Callis, Dennis Callis, Verner Callis, Lorene Luster Adcock, Margaret Edging, Forde Callis, Frances Davis, Lillian Lambert, Billie Sue Adcock, Olie Callis, Bobby Callis, Glenn Callis, Peggy Swatman.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by daughters, Cindy Thornhill (Billy) and Stacy Pearson (Brian); 5 grandchildren, Betsy Gentry, Heath Thornhill (Brianna), Andrew Thornhill, Shelby Bramblett, Ethan Bramblett (Emily); 3 great grandchildren, Brayden Gentry, Gavin Thornhill, Kaiden Thornhill; great great, grandson Blayne Gentry.

Visitation with the family will be 4PM to 8PM, Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10AM until the funeral hour. The funeral service will be conducted at 11AM with Bro. Tim McGehee officiating. Interment will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the staff of NHC Lewisburg for their love and care.
