Mrs. Judy Whitefield, age 71, of the Farmington Community of Marshall County, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Columbia, Tennessee. Mrs. Whitefield was born in Smith County, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late Marvin Ford and Georgia Smith Watts. She was a graduate of Bethesda High School, Class of 1960 and a member of Farmington Baptist Church. In 1995, Mrs. Whitefield retired after 20 years of service as a purchasing agent for Teledyne, Inc. of Lewisburg. After retirement she enjoyed being wife, mother and grandmother to her family. In 2013, she joined her daughter, Lisa, as co-owner of the Basket Case Florist in Lewisburg which was relocated to Chapel Hill and is now Main Street Flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Neese.
Mrs. Whitefield is survived by her husband of 54 years, Eddie Whitefield, Farmington Comm.; children, Jeff (Leigh) Whitefield, Columbia, TN, Lisa (Terry) Savage, Farmington Comm.; grandson, Jake Savage, Farmington Comm.; sisters, Joyce Watts, Lewisburg, TN, Betty Miller and Mary Ferrell, both on Minnesota.
Family members will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Visitation will also be on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. with funeral services being conducted at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jones and Rev. John House officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Jake Savage, Terry Savage, Jessie Crawford, Charlie Haskins, Sammy Brewer, Jessie Whaley, Tommy Wigington and Ewing Newsom will serve as pallbearers.
